A children’s book about leadership, perseverance and self-confidence.

Reading to my five grandchildren, I found children’s books to be missing a bit of “umpf” and life-teachable moments. I believe children understand more than we realize and have strong innate traits, such as leadership, that we need to acknowledge and nurture.

I was looking for books that could give my grandchildren guidance in what they were living today with their school friends and activities, as well as books that could model strong skills for the future.

And so, I created this book about a gosling named Stella, who has a big dream of being the leader for her family flock. Through Stella’s story, children will learn the ups and downs of becoming a group leader and the qualities needed to achieve this role.

For you, busy parent of little ones, I know the time you spend reading books to your children could be the most one-on-one time you’ve had together all day. In the nine minutes it takes to read this book (we’ve timed it!), you will be able to make this sacred time well spent. Your child will be exposed to essential life skills they can start using the very next day at the park, at home, in daycare, or at school.

This book has been kid-tested and approved by the real-life inspired goslings…

Testimonials

To anyone who has children or grandchildren, this book is an enduring gift of meaningful and gentle guidance on leadership, from a true expert in communication, and from the dedication of an inspiring team. Every child in my life will have a copy.

No words can express how much your book touched me. The story is so relatable, and is an echo of my childhood experiences: a loving, supportive family dedicated to helping little ones grow.

Mamie’s words and pride are just like the ones my dad used to say to me, which helped me become the woman I am today. The imagery is excellent, and I hope that every parent and child gets to experience Stella’s adventures.
— Kristine M.
I had tears of pride as Stella took her place at the head of the flock! She developed the reflex through hard work and practice.

Leadership is learned and earned and this book delivers the message in a way that Canadian children can relate. It also earns a coveted spot on our bookshelves in a category that was still vacant: leadership.
